DR. SOFIA TAPIA

Dr. Sofia Tapia is a physical therapist and former Division I athlete passionate about helping athletes build strength, prevent injury, and optimize performance. After competing as a four-year starter at Radford University and earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Georgia State University in 2023, she founded Tapia Performance and Rehabilitation to provide athletes and active individuals with the same high-quality care and support she valued throughout her own athletic career. She was a hitting and catching instructor at Dickey’s Dugout throughout her time in PT school and is currently the head coach for the Rhyne Park Renegades 14U team, giving back to the softball community.

1-on-1 Therapy Sessions and Risk Screening

  • Comprehensive evaluations focused on identifying mobility restrictions, mechanical insufficiencies, and muscular imbalances that may increase injury risk. Each plan addresses the unique biomechanical demands of sport to enhance performance, support joint integrity, and promote long-term athletic health.

     

Mobility & Strength Training Programs

  • Evidence-based programs developed to complement existing performance and strength training. Each program is designed to improve movement efficiency, build resilience, and enhance overall durability throughout the competitive season.

Recovery Guidance & Injury Prevention Plans and Risk Screening

  • Structured, research-based recovery strategies and injury prevention protocols to optimize tissue health, reduce overuse injuries, and support consistent athletic performance.
